We have an active committee of parents/carers who form our Nacton School Association (NSA), who organise a wide range of fundraising activities including; Summer Fayre, Festive Fun Friday and quiz nights. The NSA contributes to a wide range of school activities; Year 5 and 6 swimming, guitar lessons, Father Christmas gifts and subsidising educational visits.
We enjoy close links with the playgroup, who come to the school for lunch and to share a playtime once a week. The playgroup also shares activities and events with the school.
By being part of a Family of Small Schools with Bucklesham, Bealings, Martlesham Academy and Waldringfield Primary Schools, called FOSS, we offer a programme of joint activities for Year 6 pupils, as well as sporting fixtures, a joint Day for all our pupils, and a shared residential visit for Years 5 and 6. The Family partnership offers an opportunity to broaden our children’s experience, both academically and socially.
As part of the Kesgrave Pyramid of Schools our children take part in enrichment days for gifted and talented pupils, sporting activities and a programme of liaison with Kesgrave High School.
We have close links with St Martin’s Church and hold our Harvest, Christmas, Easter and Leavers’ Service there. Each class will also visit the Church annually, these visits are either linked to Religious Education, Art or Design Technology.
Home Farm Nacton provides us with many of our vegetables which are served to the children at lunch time. Our pupils also benefit from annual visits to the farm.
Our children also take great delight in singing at the Nacton senior resident’s Christmas party.
